MP is a Safe Community - No Sanctuary City
Paul Lauria, Director of Public Safety/Chief of Police in Mt Pleasant, Michigan, speaks with opposition to the commissioners proposal for discussion to enforce an Immigration Trust Act (aka Sanctuary City). Doing so would prevent local law from cooperating with Ice. HIGHLIGHTS of Chief Lauria's position: 1. Our officers are Federally Deputized due to half of MP being tribal ground. This would require other policy changes and decisions with the tribe. 2. In the history of the

Turning down a NEW BUILD based on ONE EXTREME proposal
Have you heard the details and seen the proposal that TAXPAYERS PAID FOR regarding a NEW BUILD of a COUNTY BUILDING? We didn't, neither did all of the County Commissioners, until it was supplied to us through a citizen FOIA. Again, we see dollar signs from SPICER GROUP. This proposal was turned down as TOO EXPENSIVE with ONLY Spicer's proposal, and project cost presented by SPENCE BROTHERS, but NOT other BIDS. WITHOUT PUBLIC MEETING DISCUSSION, it then it moved to a proposal

County AVOIDS COST/BENEFIT analysis.
Yesterday's Commissioner Board meeting resulted in: 1. FOIA denial of financials 2. Approval to move forward with bid preperation for the rennovation of the abated County building  Public Comment by Debra Gray-Frankie (forgiveness if spelling is incorrect) was on-point (listen at about 6:60minutes)... The County should be looking at cost/benefit analysis options for a county building, not jumping into an option.  Later in discussion, the board says the have done their resear

Simple concerns create big queations
On 10/28/25, the Isabella Board of Commissioners, during a meeting, discussed the future of the County Building. Commissioner Weber had inquired about who determined which departments would be included and the layout of those departments. His inquiry brings us the question... why are taxpayers paying for MSU Extension and why are we proposing they have their is space that includes a kitchen?! Start listening to discussion at about 15:45 mark and Commissioner Weber about the 1

Will Isabella GO BANKRUPT?
ISABELLA COUNTY, keep your eyes open! Our County is considering the renovation of the County building and they've offered NO other options to the public. And the plans, overzealous with the non-necessary MSU extension and a kitchen for them (in case they get a grant to cook something). ARE YOU ANGRY? ADD TO THIS... Our county has had us in another predicament behind the scenes, putting another huge financial burden on the taxpayers of Isabella. Pung vs Isabella County. A case

Reasonable Request for Space - Proposal?
The FOIA results for the Spicer Contract Change Directive No3 - for the new county administration proposal by the new jail - have been disclosed. Do you believe such a proposal using our taxpayers should include MSU Extension and Community Development with what appears to be their own suites? Will the same be considered in a proposal for renovation of the old county building? The full floor plans can be found below...
